最近好多国外网友在经过严肃的 “ 考古 ” 之后发现了许多历史上被隐藏的惊天秘密。
比如近些年非常流行的一个沙盒游戏《 Minecraft 》，其实早在 1945 年的时候就出现了。
甚至有 Minrcraft 角色亲自上战场的珍贵历史照片被找到了。
还有就是 Personal Computer 也就是电脑，1560 年就有人在用它了，而且有当时的油画为证。
只见这位少女手捧一台电脑主机，可是她的脸上却并没有流露出任何的喜悦表情，想必是她不太爱打游戏罢。
类似的东西还有很多，比如 1832 年的 AF1 （ Nike 的知名球鞋系列 ），由美国第一任总统乔治 · 华盛顿倾情代言。
而在 1893 年的时候，特斯拉 Model X 已经成为了贵族出门游玩的必备旅行伙伴。
看到这儿想必大家也都明白过来了，这些个所谓的 “ 考古 ” 结果，都是网友们 P 图的杰作。
这样的梗最近在国外非常流行，它们有一个统称叫 Ngram meme。
其中 Ngram 是指 Google Ngram Viewer 这个工具。
Google Ngram Viewer 是 Google Books 旗下的一个项目，堪称是丧心病狂。
为什么这么说呢？因为在这个项目里，Google 扫描了从 1500 年到 2008 年之间出版的 811 万多册书，涵盖了 8 种语言，其中 56% 是英语， 这些书占据了人类历史上所有出版书的 6%。
把这些书扫描之后，Google 对这些书进行了光学字符识别（ Optical Character Recongnition，OCR ），并且把这些书的内容都转换成了文本存储了起来，并且进行了分析，总计有超过 14 亿条数据。
要注意的是，这些内容全都来自于出版图书，互联网上的信息啥的是不包含在内的。
只要用户在 Google Ngram Viewer 里输入某个单词，就可以查询它的使用量和出现频率随着时间变化，并且以此来大致判断出当时的社会发生了什么事情。
说白了就是，如果某样东西在某个时代的重要性强，它的出现频率也就会越高。
而且它还支持多项搜索，在搜索的时候，只要用英文逗号区分开单词，就可以形成一个明显的对照图表。
比如这个搜索结果表示的是美国、英国、中国、法国、德国、苏联 / 俄罗斯从 1800 年起在各类书籍中的出现频率。
由此可以看出，英国和法国一开始堪称是世界 “ 主角 ”，随后逐渐没落；而美国逐渐崛起，在二战时期达到顶峰；德国在两次世界大战里分别有一个出现高峰，原因是啥大家都懂。
俄罗斯则是短暂崛起迅速没落，中国则是一直保持比较稳定的出场率。
再看下面这张图，搜索到内容分别是 “ 科技 ” 和 “ 宗教 ” 两个词语。
在 1950 年左右之前，宗教基本都是把科学压得死死的，之后彻底反超。
同样的道理，我们还可以利用这个搜索工具来探索各个品牌的兴衰历史。
如果在搜索的时候想把一个词的近义词也一起搜索，可以把它们用 + 号相连。

由于英语占的比例比较多，上面这些搜索结果都是用的英语，如果要搜索一些中国相关的东西，用中文会比较客观。
从这表格里一眼就能看出来吃对于中国人民的重要性了。
你看，这工具其实还是蛮有意思的，而且本身也算是个学术利器。
可这么 “ 正经 ” 的一个东西，咋就莫名其妙地成了一个互联网梗了？
估摸着是有些学生党在写论文查资料啥的时候太累了，突发奇想要搜一些和学术无关的内容来放松一下。
这一查可不得了，有人发现 “ Minecraft ” 这个词在 1920 年之前都没有出现过，可是却在 1945 年、1960 年分别迎来过两个高峰，甚至比现在的出现频率还高。
由于《 我的世界 》这个沙盒游戏的名气实在是太大，以至于现在大部分人提起 Minecraft 想到的都是它，连谷歌翻译都默认了。
于是乎 1945 年 Minecraft 的大量出现就造成了一种奇怪的反差感，让人不禁去想象那时候的 Minecraft 会是啥样，接着就出现了《 我的世界 》像素人物投身战场的照片。
当有人把这个搜索结果连同自己 P 的图片放到 reddit 论坛上之后，网友们的脑洞就再也收不住了。
接着，就出现了 1711 年的史莱克。
1505 年的《 绝地求生 》。
甚至还有 1600 年左右的漫威超级英雄。。。
造成这种误会的原因其实也很好理解，毕竟英语单词里很多都是用来当人名，或者本身就包含有一定的意义的。
比如 minecraft 意思本来应该是挖矿的技术，在以前的书里会出现其实也很正常。
只不过在《 我的世界 》这游戏之后，大家对这个单词的印象形成了思维定式。
特斯拉也是一样的道理，毕竟人尼古拉斯 · 特斯拉可是个很出名的科学家，在书里出现几次很合理，也很合乎逻辑。
当然，我也并不觉得这些 P 图的人会不知道那些单词原本的意思，更大的可能还是他们实在是太闲了……
